Two experiments were carried out in the Laboratorio de Investigación en Nutrición y Alimentación de Peces y Crustáceos. First Apparent digestibility coefficients (ADCs) of dry matter (DM), crude protein, crude lipid and gross energy and digestible energy for broken rice and rice bran was determinate for paco (Piaractus brachypomus) using a reference diet (RF) and test diets (60%RF diet plus 30% of tested feedstuff) with chromium oxide (0.5%) as an indicator and second digestible energy (DE) requirement of paco was determined by the dose-response technique, where five diets were formulated varying DE (ranging from 2900 to 3600 Kcal ED/Kg) each diet was administered at 3 replicate (9 fish per replicate, 50.45 grams per fish) for 4 weeks. The ADC of the broken rice for dry matter, protein and fat were 69.00, 66.82 and 88.90%; and rice bran were 63.77, 68.96 and 77.97% respectively. In addition, the digestible energy content (ED) obtained from broken rice and rice powder was 2719 and 3201 Kcal / Kg respectively. Based on quadratic regression analysis and taking as a response variables the weight gain and the feed conversion, the requirement obtained from ED in the diet is 3287 and 3413 Kcal / Kg respectively.
