The most recent data of AI in Peru they are in the last IV National Agricultural Census, where it indicates that the least applied practice is the AI which represents only the 3% of the total of the surveyed producers (INEI, 2012), this information is an indicator of the lack of coverage of the AI. On the other hand, the National Bank of Semen in the 2014 indicates that 16 percent of dairy cows are being inseminated, leaving a very wide gap to cover. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the situation of the use of reproductive biotechnologies in dairy barn of the main milk basins of Peru. Discretionary sampling was carried out, through exploratory and descriptive type surveys in most representative barn of five basins: Puno, Cajamarca, Arequipa, La Libertad y Lima, these were the regions with the greatest increase in milk production with 9.5, 2.4, 5.4, 1.3 y 2 percent respectively, representing 47 percent of national production (INEI, 2014). The variables evaluated were: use of AI with national and imported semen, use of sexed semen, quantification of semen banks nationwide, use of estrus synchronization, use of ET and reproductive parameters. The results obtained indicate that 100 percent of producers surveyed use artificial insemination, 65 percent use national semen and 35 percent imported semen, the use of sexed semen and heat synchronization have a greater impact on intensive farms such as La Libertad and Lima,13 national semen collection centers have been identified with a total of 101 breeding animal of different breeds. On the other hand, only 5.04 percent of producers use TE. The basins with higher milk production and suffering heat stress such as Lima and La Libertad have less success in reproductive parameters, unlike the basins of Puno, Cajamarca and Arequipa that have averages within the optimum range.
