The present work describes the identification of some critical points and their respective solutions in the agronomic management of three cultivars of Lilium sp ('Pavia', 'Zambessi' and 'Starfighter') grown under greenhouse conditions at the Catac farm, during their growth, development and production stages. The critical points identified were the following: First; the use of a traditional planting system that caused substrate compaction, high incidence of Fusarium oxysporum and high maintenance costs. This problem was solved by innovating the formulation of substrates of the traditional system and implementing a production system in jabas. These measures contributed to reduce maintenance and second package costs by 42% and 10%, respectively. In addition to the increase in yield by 14% for flowering rods per year and 20% for extra quality packages in the three cultivars. Second, the loss of the quality of the flowering canes caused by high planting densities in the traditional system. This situation was corrected by reducing the number of seeds sown per square meter, which reduced the size of the flowering cane by 16% and 25% and increased its diameter by 40% and 39% for Starfighter and Zambessi cultivars, respectively. Third; the high incidence of pests and diseases was solved thanks to the use of different measures of the phytosanitary control system. Fourth, the problems of early and late harvesting of flowering rods were solved through the implementation of phenological charts in situ. Fifth, the poor utilization of plant seed from the first cut was improved by bulb fattening, which contributed to cover 25%, 15% and 10% of the loss of flowering canes for the Starfighter, Zambessi and Pavia cultivars, respectively.
