Abstract: El presente trabajo de suficiencia profesional se basa en la experiencia profesional desarrollada del año 2015 al año 2021 en el diseño, instalación y mantenimiento de techos verdes en la ciudad de Lima; aunque considera también la experiencia obtenida en un proyecto en la ciudad de Tacna en el año 2018. Teniendo en consideración la coyuntura climática global, el crecimiento urbano y los principales retos que enfrenta la humanidad, se presentan los múltiples beneficios que los techos verdes brindan a las ciudades y sus habitantes, situándolos como instrumento del urbanismo moderno para la mitigación de impactos negativos y aporte a la sostenibilidad. Para buen entendimiento de los techos verdes se presentan uno a uno sus componentes, así como sus aspectos críticos de diseño, construcción y mantenimiento, como resultado del conocimiento adquirido en la ejecución de proyectos. Adicionalmente, se plantea una fórmula para evaluar cualitativamente el rendimiento de techos verdes en base a sus factores de incidencia. Finalmente, se presentan conclusiones, retos y oportunidades para este tipo de infraestructura verde en el ámbito local en base a un análisis de los niveles de sostenibilidad de la ciudad de Lima.
This work is based on the design, installation and maintenance professional experience obtained through green roofprojects between 2015 and 2021 inLima – Peru. It also considers the experience obtained in a project located in Tacna city in 2018. Considering information of the actual state of global climate, urban growth and the main challenges that humanity faces, green roofs multiple benefitsfor cities and its inhabitants are presented,situating these systems as an instrument for impact mitigation and sustainability contribution in modern urbanism. For the better understanding of green roofs its components are presented one by one, each of them with their critical points regarding design, installation and maintenance, as result of the knowledge obtained through projects execution. In addition, a formula for green roofs qualitative performance assessment is proposed based on its incidence factors. Finally, conclusions, challenges and opportunities for this kind of green infrastructure are presented for the local sphere based on an analysis of sustainability levels in Lima.
