The objective of this research is identify variables to develop competitive strategies for exporting olive oil (Olea europea L.) from Arequipa to Rondonia - Brazil, which will allow the increase of Peruvian exports and its position in the Brazilian market. The method used in this research was Descriptive - Correlational, since it had to analyze and measure information related to variables such as sociodemographic characteristics, lifestyle and consumer buying behavior, and competitiveness of the product in terms of quality, provisioning and costs. Descriptive studies were intended to measure or collect information independently or jointly on concepts or variables. In the correlational, I sought to know the relationship between sociodemographic and lifestyle variables with the variable purchase behavior. The results of the study concluded that with the identified variables (sociodemographic, lifestyle, frequency of purchase and competitiveness of olive oil), to develop a strategic plan for the olive sector to position Peru as the first exporter of olive oil to Brazil; Additionally Rondonia can be segmented according to its age, sex and level of education. According to the results we can identify 2 mainly age groups: those between 27 and 36 years of age and those between 37 and 46 years of age. And for sex, two groups of similar size of men and women are recognized. The variable age and the sex variable can define the acquisition of olive oil. The variable level of education does not define the possible acquisition of olive oil. The variable lifestyle can influence the acquisition of olive oil. The competitiveness of Caravelí olive oil can be recognized as high in quality.
