In the present research, used The Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLSSEM), a second-generation technique that uses statistical methods for the simultaneous analysis of complex relationships between two and more latent constructs. PLS-SEM was applied with the main objective of understanding how or by what means intimate partner violence against women (IPVAW, construct or independent variable) affects labor productivity (construct or dependent variable) measured in terms of absenteeism and presentism, and the explanation of this relationship is through damage to mental and physical health (construct or mediating variable). To do this, 357 owners of formal microenterprises in 10 departments of Peru and 977 owners of informal or formal microenterprises with access to credit in Paraguay were interviewed, a structured questionnaire was applied whose questions were measured in ordinal scale. In the average model, the results of the PLS-SEM show that both in Peru and Paraguay the three constructs analyzed are valid and reliable, based on the composite reliability, the loads, the average extracted variance (AVE), the cross loads, the criteria of Fornell Larcker and Heterotrait-Monotrait (HTMT). Regarding the structural model, both in Peru and in Paraguay the findings provide empirical evidence that the damage to mental and physical health explains the relationship between IPVAW and labor productivity. Therefore, the present investigation has implications for the confirmation of the mediating effect, the application of this technique in this type of subject and the development of the theoretical and practical framework of the PLS-SEM.
