The objective of this professional sufficiency work is to show the professional experience accumulated in the cultivation of blueberries with emphasis on the advantages and disadvantages found in the management of cultivation in pots and in definitive soil. The experience dates back to three farms located in the department of Ica: Santa Cruz (Villacurí), Añamias (Ica) and Santa Teresita (Pisco), each with a different Know How of crop management. Keeping in mind that within the basic conditions that allow the good development of the blueberry is that it needs good porosity, pH between 5.5 to 6, electrical conductivity less than 1.5, low in bicarbonates and for Ras below 2.5. The density of growing it in a pot is greater than in soil, because plants in soil in good conditions can have a larger foliar and root dimension, the vigor of a plant in soil is less than that of a pot, especially in the three years for this reason, in those years, pot yields are greater than those from the ground. With potted plantations, it is easy to have better management and recovery of underpinning plants than doing it on the ground. The yields in the first three years on the ground are much higher. less than the pot which is balanced in later years, the investment cost per hectare is higher in the pots 88,860 dollars versus 66,063 dollars, but per plant installed and the soil is equivalent to 8.18 dollars versus 12.01 dollars in a pot. Based on the experience gained, it is concluded that good yields can be achieved in both methods of cultivating blueberries, provided that the controlled management factors are maintained. It is recommended to start with management in a pot, which is easier to adapt and manage than in definitive soil.
