The study and evaluation of sources of highly digestible protein levels in piglets is of great relevance in terms of the design and formulation of diets, improvement of production parameters, mitigation of the impact of pork production on the environment and improvement of profitability. of the company. The following study reviews the impact of reducing protein levels in piglet diets from a productive, environmental and intestinal health point of view. Currently, the restrictions that are being imposed by environmental control agencies, the scarcity of safe sources of protein, drives this to be a market in continuous growth and variation. Finally, it is concluded that the use of highly digestible protein sources, the supplementation with synthetic amino acids, the reduction of the level of crude protein improve the productive performance, reduce the emission of ammonia into the environment and improve the quality of the intestinal microbiota, reducing the incidence of diarrhea.
