The objective of the study was to estimate the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding and its relation to nutritional status in children aged 06 to 24 months in the Huaycan Z Zone Human Settlement of the Ate Vitarte District, Lima Department. The study was descriptive and cross-sectional. The population was made up of boys and girls from 06 to 24 months, with a total of 63 boys and girls that meet the inclusion characteristics. Data collection included surveys, measurement of anthropometric data (weight and length), measurement of biochemical data (hemoglobin). Chi-square test was used to analyze the variables, verifying if there was a relationship between the variables. The results were: 46% of children received exclusive breastfeeding until the 6th month, 11.1% of the children presented chronic malnutrition, 50.8% of children had anemia. Exclusive breastfeeding is related to nutritional status. Failure to comply with exclusive breastfeeding is related to anemia. Exclusive breastfeeding is not related to degree of education of the mother. Exclusive breastfeeding is related to early initiation of breastfeeding. Exclusive breastfeeding is related to the age of the mother. The duration of exclusive breastfeeding is related to the orientation to the mother, about breastfeeding
