This paper describes the development of the professional work in the San Isidro Labrador dairy, located in the district of San Vicente, province of Cañete, department of Lima, belonging to the Dairy Basin of Lima. The period of work corresponds to the years 2009 – 2018, during this time various technical actions were executed with the objective of finding possible solutions to the problems in the area of feeding and organization faced by the stable. Under this premise, the use of chala corn silage (Zea mays) was started, as well as the implementation of measures to improve the logistics and management of the feeding area of the dairy cattle. The information and data shown on volumes, prices and costs of chala corn silage are real data obtained in the field throughout the work period. Data on productivity characteristics such as milk production, age at first calving, dry period and calving interval were also considered; being the use of chala corn silage part of the cattle feed, therefore, one of the multiple factors that influence the final result of these characteristics. The analysis of the trend of these indexes during the period is considered. The results obtained show that it is possible to maintain the use of corn silage from the IRD – Costa agricultural unit (Don Germán/San Martín farm) as a source of fodder for the barn and to achieve a secure fodder floor over time. Improvements in the results of productivity characteristics were also observed throughout the period. Since these characteristics are multifactorial, we can conclude that by maintaining the stability of supply and adequate quality of one of the important factors, such as feed, a positive influence can be achieved in each of the characteristics of milk productivity while complying with adequate sanitary and reproductive management.
