The present work consisted in assessing the effects of the accumulation of biofouling in the growing and survival of post-larvae of Argopecten purpuratus (Lamarck, 1819) set in trial collectors, putting them on a long line, in the summer. For this purpose, in the area of repopulation of the association of artisanal fishermen “Beatita de Humay”, located in front of the port of Parachique, Sechura bay; eighteen experimental spat collectors were hung from a long line installed six meters above the botton. During a period of 115 day, samples were taken as far as possible each fifteen days (fortnight), which consisted in pick up three collectors randomly, were there content allowed the study of the growing and survival of the post-larvae of A. purpuratus, in relation to the biofouling bonding to these. The results showed that fron the first treatment (28 days) of been submerged the collectors were significant accumulation of biofouling, constituted mainly of competing organisms, among which, the most abundant in density were amphipods: Gammarus sp and Caprella sp., on the other hand the organism Ciona intestinales, together with hidrozoos unidentified covered almost entirely the collector bags in the four treatment (70 days) of being submerged. Despite this, the statistical analysis with a correlation coefficient of Pearson, determinate that the accumulation of the biofouling were not the direct cause of the low rate of the growth nor the survival, because the value of r calculating < r critical ni de supervivencia in both cases.
