The research proposes the jaqaru eco-cultural route, aimed at the indigenous or native Jaqaru communities of Aiza, Tupe and its Colca town center, as an option to preserve traditions and customs, while seeking to improve their quality of life. For this, we have allowed a diagnosis of its tourist potential where the collaboration of its members was key to know the unique features of the place. The research design has a mixed approach of descriptive scope, with observation techniques during field visits. The primary data is based on the questions and workshops with the members of the communities, in order to know their opinions and interest in the development of tourism. This information has been complemented with interviews and experts who knew the area of study. Likewise, it has included a review of specialized literature. From the results, it was determined that the research area has ecotouristic potential. Indeed, it is feasible to carry out an eco-cultural route on the old road, the exercise of an activity that allows visiting the communities, the living cultural landscape and its harmonious relationship with the natural environment, with a focus on the dimensions of sustainability. The area includes a wide cultural heritage, the ancient path of jaqaru being an element that can be better used and recovered along with its original language through a route. It is also a responsible proposal for climate change in order to reduce the impact of traditional tran sport and its effect on the planet. The proposal of the eco-cultural tourist route seeks to create a positive impact on both the visitor and the hosts. In addition, it is about generating awareness in society about the value and legacy of the indigenous or native people of Jaqaru, strengthening their cultural identity and taking advantage of the tourist demand for this type of experience.
