The present research was realized at the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina between April and July 2018. The objective was to evaluate the yield of broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica) cv. Avenger production was evaluated with the application of compost, biochar, and the mixture of compost plus biochar. The treatments were as follows: T1 (Control) without organic or chemical application; T2 (Compost) application only of compost at a dose of 5 ton ha-1; T3 (Biochar) application only of biochar at a dose of 500 kg ha-1; T4 (Compost + Biochar) at a dose of 2.5 ton ha-1 + 250 kg ha-1, respectively. The experimental design used was a completely randomized block design (DBCA) with four replications. As for the results, the highest yield obtained was 12 tons ha-1 with the compost treatment, followed by the biochar treatment of 11.5 tons ha-1 and finally the control and compost + biochar treatments both reached 11.2 tons ha1 without significant differences between them. For the evaluations of plant height, diameter and weight of heads, the treatment with compost achieved better results without statistical significance among the other treatments. Finally, the analysis of fresh and dry matter, the treatment with the highest percentage of dry matter was the biochar treatment with 20.3% followed by compost + biochar with 20% while the control treatment resulted with the lowest percentage of dry matter with 17.6%.
