The city of Lima is the capital of Peru and in turn, the largest and most populated city in Peruvian territory; Its population reached 9,3 million inhabitants according to the census carried out by the INEI in 2017; It is supplied with drinking water administered by SEDAPAL, which comes from the Chillón and Rímac rivers, the latter having a transfer from the Alto Mantaro basin. This resource may be diminished by factors such as population increase, climate change, etc., for which reason a management model has been developed in the WEAP program, which represents the hydraulic scheme of the Chillón, Rímac, Lurín and Alto Mantaro area of influence, as well as all the infrastructure that make up the population supply system for the city of Lima. This model was used for the evaluation of the water balance of the 1965-2018 period and the water balance of future scenarios. The results obtained indicate that the regulation level of the reservoirs in 2018 is 250,6 hm³ out of a total useful volume of 361,4 hm³, resulting in a reserve volume of 110,8 hm³. Likewise, the water balance in the 1965-2018 period has a deficit of 9 percent; In Scenario 1 (trend growth without projects), there is a deficit of 6 percent; in Scenario 2 (trend growth with projects), 0,3 percent; in Scenario 3 (high growth without projects), 12 percent; and, in Scenario 4 (high growth with projects), a deficit of 1 percent.
