Here in, a monitoring plan for the population of the lizard Microlophus tigris, located in the hills of Mangomarca in San Juan de Lurigancho district in the city of Lima- Peru is presented. Ecological aspects and habitat´s carachteristic were included in its design. Previously, the population was evaluated in the dry season since January to May. It was principally conformed by adults and the ratio of males and females was similar. The daily activity was from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and lizards were more active at 10:00 and 13:00. The most used habitat were the ravines, on the other side, the middle hillside areas were the least used. In a microhábitat scale, the small rocks were the most used substrate. No significant differences were found between males and females, but there were ontogenetical differences in the use of microhabitat. Besides that, the microhábitat of Microlophus tigris, during the dry season in Mangomarca hills, was principally asociated with the amount of small and median rocks (maximun height :1 m.) and with the near distance to a refuge. Finally, after including ecological information and statistical analysis. I propose an anual monitoring plan, during dry season, with stratified samplig and 18 transects in two different strata: the ravines and the high hillside áreas. Additionally, a monitoring habitat data sheet is included.
