This study was conducted at the Agrarian La Molina National University (UNALM), located in the district of La Molina, province of Lima; which it aimed to evaluate the effect of urea (46% N) over the nutritional quality of com stover from areas: Chilampa, La Villa, Miramar and La Querencia of the Cattlemen's Association San Felipe Irrigation, located in the department of Lima, province of Huaura Treatments were three levels of urea (O, 3 and 6%) in an aqueous solution over a period of 14 days and stored sealed in plastic bags. As study variables and indicator of the quality parameters were estimated: crude protein content (CP%), neutral detergent fiber content (NDF%), in vitro digestibility of dry matter (IVD D M%), in vitro digestibility of neutral detergent fiber (IVNDFD%), intake potential of dry matter (% PV DM) and relative feed value (RFV). Randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications, whose statistical analysis consisted of analysis of variance and separation of mean by Duncan. For the analysis ofvariance the SAS (Statistical Analysis System) version 9.1 statistical software was used. The results obtained when com stover was ammoniated with O, 3 and 6% urea were: 84.66; 70.01 and 67.78% of DM; 5.08; 8.02 and 12.92% of CP; 77.31; 76.89 and 74.84% NDF; 59.90; 61.17 and 66.59% ofIVDMD; 48.15; 50.97 and 55.41% of IVNDFD; 1.55%; 1.56% and 1.60% potential intake of dry matter; 72.09; 74.03 and 82.81 of F.R.V respectively. The result of the analysis showed no statistical difference (P> 0.05) between the origins of com stover for the parameters evaluated or for IVNDFD (%) between levels ofurea applied. However, there was highly significant difference (P <0.05) of CP content (%), NDF (%) IVDMD (%), potential intake of matter and the FRV between the levels of urea.
