The aim of the following research was analyze the most appropriate irrigation depth in order to maintain a good grass quality using subsurface drip irrigation, where the criteria was based in landscape purposes as well in economy of water resource through application of irrigation coefficients. A completely randomized design with three replications and four treatments was established. The applied treatments were: T1- irrigated with an irrigation coefficient of 1.0 of ETo; T2- irrigated with an irrigation coefficient of 0.8 of ETo; T3- irrigated with an irrigation coefficient of 0.6 of ETo; T4- irrigated with an irrigation coefficient of 0.4 of ETo. The Reference evapotranspiration was based on class A pan evaporation method. This study was carried out in an experimental area supplied by Facultad de Ingeniería Agricola at Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina during January to July, in 2016. Samples were collected during fortnightly cutting grass from representative areas of 0.84 m2 for each replication. In addition to this, it conducted a visual assessment regarding qualitative variables (color, trampling recovery and uniformity). There was not find significant statistically differences in fresh or dry matter. In the same way, qualitative variables like color, uniformity and trampling recovery evaluated do not show significant differences between treatments. The coefficient of irrigation for American Grass (Stenotaphrum secundatum) was 0.4 suitable for April - July periods and in the area of UNALM
