Lemon is a very important crop for Portoviejo; a lot this fruit tree in Ecuador is produced in that jurisdiction, which has little information about the its sustainability, for which the general aim was to evaluate the sustainability of lemon farms (Citrus aurantifolia) in Portoviejo, Ecuador during the years 2018 and 2019. Regarding the methodology were used the clusters analysis, the sustainability method corresponding to Sarandón adapted to lemonfarms, analysis of biological controllers (parasitoids, neem) and pest insects, and linear transect sampling to the insect diversity. Based on the cluster analysis, three groups of type farms were established, the most numerous was group two, which includes 56 %, showing statistical differences between the groups for seven variables. Regarding sustainability, only 12 % of the subtle lemon farms were sustainable, the main weaknesses corresponded to the environmental dimension. In this study were found three pest species and five parasitoid species, for the pest insect Aleurotrixus floccosus the parasitoids Encarsia nigricephala and Eretmocerus sp. were identified, in the case of phytophage Phyllocnistis citrella the parasitoid Ageniaspis citricola was found, for the pest aphid Toxoptera aurantii were identified Aphidius sp. and Diaretus sp. Regarding the parasitoidism-applications with neem relationship, it was observed that the populations from Phyllocnistis citrella and Ageniaspis citricola were not affected by the treatments with neem, the mortality rate of the phytophage is attributable to the parasitoid action. Finally, with regard to total insect diversity, it was established that the phytophagous and specimens collected in the surrounding vegetation were higher in quantity compared to the beneficial and they found within the crop.
