It was evaluated the effect of the application of three antiperspirants (Stress Relief 35®, Vapor Gard® and tara gum) with and without use of bactericide, on the percentage of fresh weight loss (%), observed damage (predetermined degrees), marketing limit (days) and vase life (days) of Musa coccinea H.C. Andrews inflorescences for 28 days postharvest life. Significant differences were found with the application of tara gum at 0.25%, obtaining the lowest damage degree observed in bracts (3.0); longer time to market (20.6 days), longer vase life (29.8 days) and lower percentage of fresh weight loss (0.234%), without statistically significant differences on the Stress Relief 35® treatment without bactericide (0.409) but yes on the other treatments. Significant differences were found with the application of tara gum at 0.25%, obtaining the lowest degree of damage observed in bracts (3.0); longer time of marketing limit (20.6 days), longer vase life (29.8 days) and lower percentage of fresh weight loss (0.234%), with the exception of the comparison with Stress Relief 35®, which reached 0.409% of loss weight without statistical differences with tare gum at 0.25%.
