This research determines the influence of the use of the virtual platform in the academic performance of the students, it is also determined what is the use of the virtual platform by the students of the first semester of General Studies of the UAC 2017-II. The research is of a quantitative approach, as far as the design of the research is of explanatory scope. Regarding the results achieved, it is said that there is a continuous use of the virtual platform, highlighting the interday use of this virtual tool in a percentage of 52,73% and twice a week in a 32,73%. Students find it easy to use the virtual platform in 92,73% and recognize in 76,36% of the available material as the main benefit. We also found that a high percentage of 92,73 % used the material uploaded to the virtual platform. With regard to the perception by students of the use of the virtual platform they qualify as good 49,09 % and excellent 23,64 %. The perception of the students regarding the presentation of works through the virtual classroom is good at 74,55 %. Students deliver activities (tasks) of the subject through the virtual classroom in a 100%, also they consider the reminder of the delivery of activities (tasks) through the virtual platform as help in a 94,50%. 90,90% qualifications review the grades obtained from these activities. 90,90% consider that the virtual platform makes it easier to deliver jobs. The students in 87,27 % are satisfied with the virtual platform and 9,09 % completely satisfied. The students do not communicate with the teacher when they use the virtual platform in 54,55%, and if they do it is through the institutional email in 29,09%, through the Moodle chat in 9,09% or through Moodle messaging in a 7,27%. It is checked that the students who use the virtual platform case group 1CC has an average academic performance of 14,55 as an average at the end of the academic semester, finding students that had an average of 17 as a maximum qualification and an average of 10 as a minimum qualification, these students who used the virtual platform has a standard deviation of 1,60 points. And students who did not use the virtual platform control group 1CE has an average academic achievement of 13,16 as an average at the end of the academic semester, found students who has an average of 16 as a maximum qualification and an average of 10 as a minimum qualification, these students who did not used the virtual platform has a standard deviation of 1,76 points. Therefore, the average is higher in the case group 1CC of students who use the virtual platform, with a standard deviation and extreme values above the students who do not use the virtual platform control group 1CE, evidencing that there is a difference between the two groups.
