At Pómac Forest Historical Sanctuary, located in the lower basin of the La Leche River in the department of Lambayeque with an extension of 5887, 38 ha, grows the carob Prosopis limensis Benth. This is the dominant species, of greatest ecological and forestry importance of the dry tropical forest-BTES; however, it has been little studied in terms of its growth and conservation. Contributing to these studies, this research has been carried out by determining the age of the trees through a dendrochronological analysis, resulting in a maximum age of 106 years. To determine the age of individuals, five representative plots, were selected from the dry forest, where 10 trees were chosen; a disc of each specimen was cut, but two were discarded because they did not meet the necessary characteristics. With the Image Tool software 3.0, Alpha 3 version, the growth rings were counted and measured to then perform a statistical analysis. Then the growth curve of the species was selected, using five models derived from the Schumacher equation (1982). The chosen model was the one that best met the of Akaike Information Criterion-AIC, Residual Standard Error-EER, Coefficient of Variation-CV% Likewise, the derivative method was applied, to find the minimum cut age and the technical cut age: 30 cm diameter at 91 years and 9,23 cm diameter at 28 years, respectively. Also, the correlation between the average annual temperature and the total annual precipitation was determined. In addition to characterizing the anatomy of the logs, in which it was observed, parenchyma of vasicentric paratracheal type, diffuse pores, solitary and radial multiple of 2,3-4, with crystalline inclusions; with thin and numerous radii to the transversal cut, not stratified in the tangential cut, and very little contrasted in the radial cut.
