The objective of the present research work was to estimate the essential amino acids requeriment (EAA) for paiche, using the profile essential amino acids of the muscle, for which 8 juveniles of Paiche were used with an average weight in grams of 936.02 ± 152.85, which were fasting for 24 hours before being benefited through cold shock, then being gutted, slaughtered, skinned and boned, obtaining the clean muscle and then dried by means of the Oven Desiccation Method, obtaining 3 samples for subsequent chemical analysis. The estimated results of the EAA requirement were obtained from the essential amino acid ratio between the total essential amino acids (A/E) of the muscle and the determined lysine requirement for dorado (Salminus brasiliensis), which is 5g/16g N. Likewise, the essential amino acid profile of the muscle, the A / E ratio of muscle and the estimated requirement of EAA obtained in the present research were compared with the values reported in other species and mainly with the study carried out in Brazil in the Arapaima gigas, through the T-Student test with a significance level of 0.05. The results obtained indicate that the muscle EAA profile reported in the study carried out in Brasil presents significant differences (p <0.05) with the muscle EAA profile of the present research only for the amino acids arginine, leucine and threonine; however, comparing the estimated requirement of EAA, the values of arginine, leucine, Met + Cys, Phe + Tyr, threonine, tryptophan and valine showed significant differences (p <0.05). Additionally, the estimated requirement of EAA reported in Brazil was correlated with the values obtained in the present investigation, obtaining an r = 0.74. In conclusion, the estimated requirement of EAA in the present research work is valid and applicable for the formulation of diets while have not been determined the requeriment of 10 EAA by dose-response tests; in consequence, recommended values expressed in g / 16g N are Arginine (6.77), Histidine (1.03), Isoleucine (2.47), Leucine (4.35), Lysine (5.00 ), Methionine+Cysteine (2.16), Phenylalanine+Tyrosine (4.16), Threonine (1.39), Tryptophan (0.43) and Valine (2.21).
