The present professional sufficiency work (TSP) based on the experience of a meteorology graduate who is working and performing operational tasks at the Iquitos airport (Loreto), for the Peruvian Civil Aviation Corporation - CORPAC S.A. describes the procedure for forecasting low-level wind shear and timely dissemination of warnings. To achieve the objectives, a forecasting methodology was developed for the production and dissemination of low-level wind shear warnings associated with convective systems. The procedure for making this forecast is based on evaluating infrared (IR) satellite images consecutively for a period of time not exceeding one hour, and then complementing them with the storm detector of the AWOS system, which will help us identify the distance and the quadrant where the convective activity is found, and with the wind direction and intensity information from the anemometers located at the thresholds of both aerodrome runways (06 and 24), to estimate the shear forecast either in direction e intensity. Once the wind shear forecast has been estimated, the Wind Shear Warning is prepared in accordance with the guidelines established by the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics - DGAC. in the NTC 003-2013. By the completion of this work, it will be possible to have an improvement in the procedure for preparing and disseminating wind shear warnings in order to maintain the safety of air operations. in addition the meteorologist can have a better performance in his work center.
