An experiment was conducted with the objective of evaluating the reproductive performance of Japanese quail of different ages and weights at the start of mating. The research lasted from 45 to 115 days of age of the breeders and was carried out in the Poultry Experimental Unit of La Molina Agrarian National University. To this end, 486 females and 162 breeding males of 45, 52 and 59 days of age were used with 130, 140 and 150 grams of weight housed in 9 metallic structure batteries distributed prior to classification in 9 treatments with 3 repetitions of 24 birds each in a ratio of three females to one male. 10 weeks of production evaluation and 4 estimates of 54 quail eggs measuring weights and diameters. We also used 1757 eggs that were placed in the incubator. The results were analyzed using the Random Completely Blocks Design with Factorial Arrangement and revealed that the age and weight of the breeders have a highly significant effect (p <0.01) on most of the evaluated variables. The highest values obtained where there was a significant effect of the age and weight of the breeders in the productive characteristics were 65.75 in the number of eggs, 46.02 in the percentage of laying, 713.92 grams in mass of eggs, 10.71 in the average weight of Eggs, 20.85 grams in feed consumption per bird showing the best values of the 52 and 59 day old reproducers with 150 grams of weight. In the egg quality characteristics were 97.76 in the Haugh units score and 0.202 mm. in the shell thickness showing the best values the breeders of 52-59 days of age with 140-150 grams of weight. In the reproductive characteristics were 64.8 percent in the hatchability, 68.76 percent in the natality, 61.16 percent in the cotupollos of first and 6.98 grams in the weight of the cotupollo showing the best results the reproducers of 52-59 days of age with 140 -150 grams of weight. On the other hand, the highest economic retribution in egg and cotupollo production is obtained by the treatments of 52-59 days with 150 grams of weight.
