The objective of this paper was to identify the viability of the Hand Pack method in comparison to the conventional method on harvesting fresh blueberries, analyzing the harvest yield and the quality of bloom and firmness. A pilot plan was executed to compare the results between both methods and obtain the quantification of the final exportable, the economic behavior and the general benefits. The size, quality defects and condition defects of the berry were analyzed to calculate the final exportable. Likewise, the economic results were evaluated considering the market price, according to the quality obtained. The Hand Pack method aims to reduce the handling of blueberries through direct harvesting to final consumption packaging, as an alternative to the conventional harvesting method, and is directly linked to improving the bloom and firmness of the blueberry that gives the desired result of a better economic return. The result was an improvement in the quality of the berries by 11.92%, an increase in the exportable of 7% and an economic benefit of 8.6%, determining that the Hand pack method gives better results than the conventional method.
