The research work was carried out at the Fundo Pampa Grande, located in the district of Vegueta, province of Huaura, Department of Lima. The objective was to determine the effect of Paclobutrazol to control shoot growth during flowering and reduce competition with the fruit set and subsequent growth and development of fruits and thus increase the productivity of avocado cv. Hass. The treatments were: T0 (control); T1: (4.8 L of paclobutrazol / 400 L of water); T2: (4.8 L of paclobutrazol / 600 L of water) and T3: (4.8 L of paclobutrazol / 800 L of water). The randomized complete block design (DBCA) was used, with 4 treatments and 4 repetitions. The results were analyzed using the SAS 8 statistical program. To compare treatment means, Duncan's test at a level of α = 0.05 was used. The application of pacobutrazol significantly reduced the length of vegetative shoots, increased the number of commercial fruits per tree and the yield per hectare. They did not reduce the polar diameter and had no effect on the equatorial diameter of the fruit. It is recommended to spray 4.8 l ha-1 of Paclobutrazol 250 SC ®, in fractional form: 2.8 l ha-1 in a water volume of 600 l ha-1 at 30% open flowers and then 2 l ha-1 , also in 600 l ha-1 , when the length of the spring shoot in a control is more or less 10 cm in length.
