The Organic Farming Information System (OFIS) is a public website recently created by the European Commission (EC) as a tool to secure, systematize and publish information about organic products entering Europe, as well as additional requirements that must be included in the research processes when a breach of Regulations (EC) 834/2007 and 889/2008 in force of the European Union is identified. Peru is included in these additional assessments and controls and is aware of the issues that may arise in the whole agricultural exporting chain. This information is published in this site, such as the recurrence of pollution cases due to the use of forbidden substances indicated in the organic certification, in which we appear in the list of high-risk crops since 2022. This situation directly affects the image and credibility as exporter of organic products and results in additional measures in audits by certification entities, which in some cases may cause delays in the export schedules of those crops, as well as the noncompliance with contracts due to protocols established by the EU, which must be met and whose results are published in OFIS as a condition to lift the critical crop status. For this reason, certification entities had to include new procedures, standards and measures in the traceability of processes and prepare additional protocols to meet these requirements and be removed from the list of critical crops. This experience is presented as a contribution to the update of new demands of the export market of the EU.
