The present project was carried out in the experimental plot of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering of the UNALM, during the months of June and September of 2017.the main objective of determining the water footprint of the potato crop, UNICA variety, applying two irrigation treatment, the control treatment (T) and the deficit treatment (RP).The experimental design used in the investigation was completely random, for two treatments with ten repetitions each, evaluating the effects produced by the type of irrigation where the independent variable was the sheet of water applied and the dependent variables were the production of biomass , the yield and canopy coverage. For the determination of the water footprint of the UNICA variety potato crop, the potato crop was modeled in the AquaCrop model, where the model was calibrated with canopy coverage (CC), total biomass (MST) and yield parameters (Y), obtained in the control treatment (T) and later validating the model with the data obtained in the deficit treatment (RP). The statistical analysis showed that the results of canopy and total biomass coverage do not show significant statistical difference between both treatments, while the yields obtained for the control and deficit treatments were 65 t.ha-1 and 60 t.ha-1 respectively, presenting significant statistical difference. The total water footprint for the control treatment resulted in a value of 149 m3 / ton, and in the case of the deficit treatment the total water footprint resulted in a value of 149.33 m3 / ton. Concluding that there is no significant difference in the water footprint in both treatments.
