Objective: to determine the factors that influence self-medication with ivermectin in the merchants of the "Feria el Altiplano" in the district of Miraflores - Arequipa, during the Covid-19 pandemic, between the months of March to April 2022. Material and Method: this thesis is a qualitative, non-experimental study, it is descriptive and cross-sectional. A survey was used that was delivered to the merchants of the Altiplano Fair between the months of March to April of the year 2022. The sample consisted of 310 merchants. Results: the results have shown that 40.64% of the merchants are between 39 and 48 years of age, and 76.77% are female, 65.16% finished Primary School. 97.42% of the merchants confirmed that they self-medicated with Ivermectin, of which 87.75% acquired ivermectin in a Pharmacy; Neighbors (37.09%) and co-workers (33.44%) were the ones who advised them to self-medicate with ivermectin. 93.05% of the merchants consider that self-medication with ivermectin is a preventive measure against COVID-19, and the main reason for self-medication was mistrust of doctors. Conclusions: it was possible to determine the factors that influenced the self-medication with Ivermectin of the merchants of the “Feria el Altiplano”- Arequipa, in times of the COVID-19 pandemic, between the months of march to april 2022. 97.02% of The people surveyed self-medicated with Ivermectin. The factors that influenced merchants to self-medicate with Ivermectin are the information provided by neighbors (37.09%), the advice of friends (86.75%), distrust of doctors (42.72%), fear of contagion (34.11%); despite the fact that 100% of merchants indicate that they do not have the necessary knowledge to treat COVID-19. (93.05%) of the merchants surveyed consider that the consumption of Ivermectin is a measure to prevent infection with COVID-19. Self-medication with Ivermectin caused discomfort such as abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting in the merchants of the “Feria el Altiplano”- Arequipa.
