Objective: determine the perception of the role of the pharmaceutical chemist and its relationship with the perception of the quality of care for patients at the Casimiro Ulloa hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, september-november 2023. Materials and methods: study carried out on 259 patients from the Casimiro Ulloa Hospital using a quantitative, non-experimental method and descriptive and cross-sectional design. Results: a good level of health quality was obtained, related to the perception of the role of the pharmaceutical chemist, 48.3% and 59.1% give an excellent level of quality; 46.3% and 57.9% reliable, 59.8% receptive, 76% good, that is, 66% are good in terms of attention. The tangible deficit is 63.30%. Conclusion: there is a significant correlation between the perception of the role of the pharmaceutical chemist and the perception of quality, 52.8% said they were very satisfied and 32.1% satisfied, it can be seen that the level of bilateral significance is 0.000, therefore, considering the parameters, the p values are less than 0.05. The performance of health professionals is measured based on the perception of the quality of care.
