The objective of this prefeasibility study is to demonstrate the technical, economic and social feasibility of installing a processing plant for refrigerated golden berry chocolates in Metropolitan Lima. The project's target market is the population of Metropolitan Lima, people over 18 years of age, and sectors A, B and C. In addition, based on the surveys conducted, the demand for the project is 167,069 packages for the fifth year of operation. In terms of plant location, proximity to the market is the most important factor in selecting the city of Lima, while for micro-location, the district of Lurin was selected because of its rental cost and proximity to sales outlets. With respect to the calculation of the size of the processing plant, the factors of technology, productive resources, break-even point and market size were evaluated, the latter factor determining a capacity of 167,069 PT packages. To establish the plant area, the Guerchet technique was used to obtain the size of the productive and administrative areas, concluding that the plant should have a minimum area of 98.40 m². Finally, to evaluate the profitability of the project, the NPV and financial and economic IRR are calculated. In addition, a sensitivity analysis is performed considering pessimistic and optimistic scenarios for the sales value and demand variation variables.
