The present study aims to determine the feasibility of installing a production plant of disposable and biodegradable plates that will be created from polylactic acid (PLA). The product to be developed is defined as biodegradable dishes made from biodegradable polyester resin of corn starch, which is compostable and biodegradable in a period of no more than 100 days. Through the market study, the existence of a potential demand of households located in the urban sector of Lima that belong to the socioeconomic sectors A and B with a purchase intention of 32%, a weighted intensity of 54% and a frequency of bimonthly average purchase. The location, according to the factor ranking methodology used, indicates that the optimal location for the location of the plant will be in the district of Chorrillos, Lima. It is determined that, according to the limiting factor, the plant size or equilibrium point for the last year is 1'499,565 packs per year (1 pack represents 10 dishes). For the production process, an extruder / laminator and vacuum thermoformer will be required as the main machinery, with a reduction of 7% and 20%, respectively. For the production program, a safety stock of 299,113 packs per year will be maintained. The 3 levels of management will be complied with: general management, area heads and operators and assistants. A total investment of S /. 10´493,680 which will be financed 70% with an TEA of 15% in a period of 6 years. The social impact of the project responds mainly to the economic aspect, due to the promotion of jobs, an increase in commercial in the Chorrillos area and the introduction of an ecological product to the market.
