The research topic arises from the need for an improvement in the life’s quality of older adults and their reintegration into society. The problem lies in the lack of recreation spaces, the little contact with people of other generations, and a lack of interest in the basic needs of these users. For this reason, we plan to implement an intergenerational center in Hogar Canevaro. The goal is to promote social integration between people of all ages for the mutual benefit of each of those involved and above all, for the elderly, since it reduces the feeling of loneliness and eliminates negative stereotypes related to old age. Likewise, we seek to promote a positive impact in the Paseo de Aguas area and generate a better connection of the center with the street to reduce the insecurity in that area. Also, our research accounts for important architectural points to develop the infrastructure of the center, such as those represented in the theories of active aging, memory and perception, architectural recycling and intergenerational learning, which would provide a pleasant atmosphere for the elderly resident.
