This research thesis studied the physical-mechanical properties of a standard mortar, substituting used tires (NFU) in percentages of 10%, 20%, and 30% by weight of the fine sand from the Cunyac quarry. The physical property investigated was the flow test, while the mechanical properties evaluated were the compression, flexural, and adhesion tests. The mortar was prepared with fine aggregates from the Cunyac quarry and type IP Portland cement. Flow was determined in the fresh state of the mortar, and compression, flexural, and adhesion resistance were evaluated at 7, 14, and 28 days of curing. Peruvian technical standards (NTP334.051, 2006 and NTP.334.057, 2014), the Mexican Standard (NMX-C-303-1986), and the Guatemalan Standard (NORMA COGUANOR NTG 41051 h7) were used for the preparation of samples, execution of tests, and data analysis. The specimens were: mortar cubes (Dimensions: 5cm x 5cm x 5cm) for compression test, mortar prisms (Dimensions: 10cm x10cm x40cm) for flexural strength test, cross-brick with mortar for adhesion test, and fresh mortar for flow test. The specimens with substitution were added with ground used tires (NFU) at 10%, 20%, and 30% by weight of fine sand. The population consisted of 60 mortar cubes, 60 mortar prisms, 60 cross-bricks, and 20 mortar samples for flow. The dosing used was Water: 0.562, Cement: 1, Sand: 1.676. Analyzing the results, compression, flexural strength, and flow were inversely proportional to the increase in ground NFU replacing the fine sand in the coating mortar. The mortar with 10% of NFU has a 1.41% increase in adhesion and is within the accepted range for flexion. Fractures were observed in the standard mortar samples, while ductile fractures were observed in samples with added NFU in compression and flexural tests.
