The present investigation covered the experimental evaluation (thermal efficiency analysis through the Water Boiling Test-WBT, emissivity analysis and thermographic analysis) of eight atmospheric burner head designs for low-end LGP cookers type Anafe. From the experimental evaluation carried out, it was obtained that, of the eight designs evaluated, design 6 is the design that presents the best results. Lower thermal power (1.98 KW), lower consumption of LPG (21.5), shorter time to reach the final temperature (8.55 min) and lower CO emissivity (12.67 ppm), for which it was chosen to start the optimization stage. Likewise, from the sensitivity analysis carried out by varying the distance between the burner head and the kitchen grill, it was determined that ideal distance between both is 3.5 cm. As part of the optimization stage, the sizing values of the atmospheric burner components were obtained. In the case of the injector, a diameter of 1.02 mm with an exit angle of 30° was obtained; while, in the mixer, the convergent length was 31 mm, the divergent length was 149 mm, the entry angle was 40°, the exit angle was 7° and the throat diameter was 12.4 mm. Likewise, the number of ports for the optimum burner head was determined to be 78 ports. Finally, through the simulation with ANSYS CFD software in the combustion chamber, it was verified that both the flow velocity (394.6 m/s) and the temperature (300 K) are within the values determined for the sizing of the mixer, a component with which a stoichiometric mixture is sought to be developed. The thermal efficiency for the proposed final design is 55%, a value close to the range of thermal efficiencies in LPG stoves.
