The present thesis work aims to computationally design magnetic gears for an electronic-type continuously variable transmission (e-CVT) system as an alternative to planetary gears in sedan hybrid cars. To achieve this purpose, it is necessary to understand the operation of the e-CVT system since, in its structure, a planetary gear is used whose main function is to transmit the power of the motors, both electric and internal combustion, to the wheels. To replace the planetary gears, it will be analyzed in which aspects the magnetic gears can overcome them. To do this, the magnetic torque generated by permanent magnets will be analyzed; in order to obtain a dimensioning that has the ability to transmit the power of the motors, both electric and internal combustion, to the wheels. Likewise, the efficiency of magnetic gears will be analyzed as well as the duty cycles of permanent magnets.
