The present thesis work consists of the elaboration of a preventive maintenance plan for the fleet of eleven Volvo FMX dump trucks of the company Transportes Dueñas. Currently, this company provides its ore and waste mining transportation services to the Compañía Minera Corona at its Yauricocha production unit (Yauyos, Lima). That is why the transport company has to guarantee that its dump trucks are in optimal conditions for the performance of the work; however, the maintenance that the company applies to its units is 70% corrective maintenance. Given the problem described, the design of the preventive maintenance plan arises as the first and urgent solution. To carry out this work, in the first place, the current situation of the company will be analyzed. Using the history of data of repairs and replacement of spare parts, interviews and visits to the workshop, the SWOT analysis can be carried out. Second, the preventive maintenance plan will be designed based on the previous analysis. Third, the costs and indicators (availability, MTBF and MTTR) associated with the proposed plan will be calculated. For this, real costs and times will be used. Finally, the results of this project were economically evaluated, and the result is that this maintenance plan is viable (ROI = 119%).
