This research called “Humor“ Program for positive psychological functioning in mothers of children with autism in Lima intended to evaluate the effect of the “Humor“ program on the positive psychological functioning of mothers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder who attend to a public special basic education center in the district of Chorrillos. The approach was quantitative and qualitative, the level of research was explicative and descriptive, of an applied type and with a quasi-experimental design and content analysis. The sample consisted of an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group consisted of 6 mothers and the control group by 9 mothers. The instruments used were the Positive Psychological Functioning Scale developed by Merino y Privado with pre-test and post-test for both groups and a semi-structured interview with the experimental group at the end of the program. In the results found from the quantitative approach, there were no effective changes in the positive psychological functioning of the mothers who participated in the experimental group and no significant differences were observed in the positive psychological functioning between the experimental group and the control group at the end of the program. Regarding the results from the qualitative approach, it was observed that the program had an impact on the lives of the participants, especially in relation to the importance and use of humor in the different areas of their lives.
