The purpose of this research is to analyze and compare academic self-efficacy and family composition in adolescents from 3rd, 4th and 5th grade of secondary school in an educational institution in Metropolitan Lima. The design for the present study is simple descriptive. The study population consisted of 315 adolescents of both sexes, aged between 14 and 17 years old. The sample consisted of 122 adolescents. The first instrument used was the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (ESAA), prepared by Robles (2018), in Peru, obtaining a reliability of .94, in order to collect the perceptions of academic self-efficacy perceived by the students, and the second instrument was Family composition questionnaire (CASHUI), which collects information on the composition and family dynamics of students. The results of the investigation in times of pandemic by Covid-19, reveal a population that presents low and very low levels regarding academic self-efficacy, and where the most outstanding family composition is extensive, the main characteristic being the absence of academic guidance to guide the adolescent in their school performance.
