The aim of this investigation is to determine relationships and significant differences between assertiveness and sexual assertiveness in students from public and private universities in Lima by sociodemographic variables: sex, age, time period of relationship, religion and marital status. The study sample consists of 400 heterosexual students from the four universities of Metropolitan, who were administered with Assertiveness Inventory of Rathus (RAS) and the Index of Sexual Assertiveness of Hurlbert (HISA). Same sociodemographics as sex, age, time period of relationship, religion and marital status were obtained. The research is developed under a correlational and comparative design due to the fact that the working hypotheses are in the same logic, meaning that the relationship between assertiveness and sexual assertiveness was found, as well as differences in sexual assertiveness is established based on sociodemographic variables. The chapters in this thesis will explain in more detail the subject-matter that is of this investigation.
