This research aimed to analyze the relationship between family satisfaction and social networks addiction in students of one school from high school of Metropolitan Lima. This is a quantitative and descriptive correlational study with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. A total of 90 male students in third, fourth and fifth years of high school were evaluated with the tests: Social Network Addiction Questionnaire (ARS) and the Family Satisfaction Scale for Adjectives (ESFA). The results show a statistically significant and negative association between the variables family satisfaction and addiction to social networks. In addition, there is a negative relationship between family satisfaction and the sub-dimensions obsession with social networks, lack of personal control in the use of social networks and excessive use of social networks, the size of the effect being small for the first two and null for the third. The small effect size found in the associations may be explained with that social media addiction and low family functioning depend on more than one factor and both factors cannot be expected to be determining for each othe.
