It was decided to evaluated 88 mothers of children with special abilities who attend the Institute for Child Development - ARIE, headquarters of Villa el Salvador were evaluated in order to establish whether there was a significant correlation or association between stress and perceived self-efficacy. Stress was assessed with the Perceived Stress Scale (PPS 14) and Self-efficacy Scale by Shwarzer Baessler amended by Anicama and Cirilo, with psychometric adaptations in Lima. The sample was intentional by age, educational level and current occupation and random. The results show that there is a relatively low negative relationship: -.324 p <.005, that is, to lower stress greater efficacy or vice versa. There are also no significant relationship between the two variables by type of disorder. There is a greater level of stress in mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder and no significant differences by age, educational level and current occupation were found higher average self-efficacy was found in mothers of children with behavioral disorders or with ADHD and no significant differences by age, educational level and current occupation were found.
