The present research work aims to compare the effectiveness of RAOS and Coagulation - Flocculation methods for the removal of arsenic in human drinking water in the City of Calca, Province of Calca, Department of Cusco, by evaluating the source named Ayaccaca hillside spring, which currently does not meet the minimum quality requirements required by the Water Quality Regulation for Human Consumption DS No. 031-2010-SA., presenting arsenic in concentrations up to 0.053mg / L, quantity exceeding the maximum allowable limits (LMP) given by the 0.01mg / L regulation. The research contemplates the analysis of effectiveness and efficiency of both methods, as well as the effectiveness of these. It presents the tests, coagulants, and analyzes used in both methods to verify the effectiveness in terms of cost, time, degree of removal and applicability thereof. For the first method ferric chloride and aluminum sulfate coagulants were used in amounts ranging from 20mg / l to 50mg / L, reaching a removal of up to 99% by adding a dose of 50mg / L of ferric chloride. The second method uses for its elaboration iron wire No. 16 and lemon juice in quantities ranging from 4gr to 8gr and 1.1 ml and 1.5ml, reaching removals of up to 84%, The method chosen taking into account its effectiveness will be applied in the design of the Drinking Water Treatment Plant that the research suggests.
