The thesis entitled “Evaluation of the level of service and improvement proposals in the road axis of the Tres Cruces de Oro and Cascaparo streets of the city of Cusco using the Hcm 2010 methodology and virtual microsimulation“, raises the evaluation of the current vehicular and pedestrian level of service of the road axis for Tres Cruces de Oro and Cascaparo streets in to measurable parameters based on a virtual microsimulation and HCM 2010 methodology, to give solutions of geometric redesign , reordering of the circulation and traffic light optimization measuring the variables that appear in the study area. In the current work, the general problem was identified, the objectives to be achieved, then some background studies referring to the present research work were analyzed. Methodology was a quantitative approach of experimental level; according to the method, was hypothetical deductive in which the hypothesis was issued based on the possible solutions raised, the population that was taken into account were the intersections present along the road axis , to then proceed to the use of tools to collect field data. Finally, the level of service was determined, and with the obtained results, the previously described alternatives were analyzed. When evaluating the current situation of the road axis, the obtained levels of service results were between E and F that led us to propose three alternatives that were simulated in the PTV Vissim 9 student version program, being the alternative of rearrangement of the circulation in which much better results are appreciated taking into account the pedestrian and vehicular aspects.
