decisiones.
This study analyze how corporate governance in Latin American firms influences exporting and importing activities. In order to do this analysis I focus in three main relationships: ownership concentration and exporting, shareholder internationality and importing, as well as the presence of the state in the firm and the presence of the state in the export destination economy. Under the framework of agency and institutional theory. Incorporating in the analysis the country export-import diversification in order to do a deeper analysis. This research is theoretical motivated by the unique conditions of the region, and the lack of literature about corporate governance and the internationalization process. The practical motivation is to show to practitioners and policy maker a scheme about three corporate governance modes and the internationalization process to facilitate decisions.
