The present study entitled “Risk factors associated with knee osteoarthritis in patients treated in the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation of the Loreto regional hospital in 2023”, was developed this year and had as its main objective to determine the degree of association of risk factors and knee osteoarthritis in patients treated at the Loreto regional hospital in 2023. The results were: 51% were female and 49% were male. Likewise, we have patients between the ages of 30 and 79 years, where patients aged 38, 51 and 66 years are the most frequent (6 patients), followed by those aged 65 years. with 5 patients, those aged 45, 58, 68 and 70 years with 4 patients respectively and the other ages from 1 to 3 patients; the occupation carried out for years, that 39% carried out worker activities, 36% carried out administrative activities and 23% carried out manual activities; We observed the existence of a history of previous trauma in the patients, where 52% “Yes” had a history and 48% “No” had a history; We observed the diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis, obtaining that 35% of the patients had “Mild” osteoarthritis, 32% “Doubtful”, 27% “Moderate” osteoarthritis and 6% “Severe”. We determined that there is a statistically significant relationship between the variables “Knee Osteoarthritis (Diagnosis)” and “Occupation carried out for years” (rs= -0.125; Sig. < 0.05). and also in variables “Knee Osteoarthritis (Diagnosis)” and “History of previous trauma” (rs= 0.117; Sig. < 0.05), a very low negative correlation and a very low positive relationship respectively.
