An investigation was carried out in order to verify if there was a relationship between the intellectual level evaluated with the California Mental Maturity Test and the social skills evaluated with the Social Skills Scale, in students entering the First Grade of an I.E. parish of Iquitos. 2021. The sample consisted of 102 children students of the indicated Educational Institution, who were selected by intentional non-probabilistic sampling. It was an explanatory descriptive study, at a correlational level that applied Spearman's Non-Parametric correlation. It was a research with a quantitative approach, non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The statistical procedure was carried out with the support of the statistical program SPSS Version 25 and the Excel 365 Program. Depending on the specific objectives, the total score in the California Mental Maturity Test was correlated with the four areas considered by the Scale of Social Skills (Ability for cooperation; Ability to exercise self-esteem; Ability to practice respect and Ability for social integration). The instruments that were applied had proven validity and reliability, they were even standardized for our environment. The statistical processing found positive and significant correlations between both variables, with which the proposed hypotheses were verified. The conclusions and the respective recommendations were formulated and the respective tables and statistical graphs were elaborated.
