The present research aims to analyze the relationship between teaching performance and didactic skills with the academic performance of students in the subject of Mathematics I, in virtual mode, at the National University of San Antonio Abad del Cusco, 2022. For this purpose, the work was approached from a quantitative paradigm with a correlational scope, employing a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 1940 students enrolled in Mathematics I and 29 teachers of said subject. A random sample of 355 students was selected, and surveys were administered. The instruments were validated by expert judgment with a doctoral degree. According to the students' perception, the results of the study indicate that 63.7% of the Mathematics I teachers, corresponding to general studies at the National University of San Antonio Abad del Cusco 2022, exhibited a regular level of teaching performance and didactic skills. Furthermore, 64.8% achieved a medium level, and 30.7% attained a regular level in their academic performance, as perceived by the director of the Academic Department of Mathematics I, with a 31.03% achievement of a regular level. It was concluded, with 95% confidence from the chi-square test, that there exists a direct and significant relationship between teaching performance, didactic skills, and the academic performance of students in Mathematics I at the National University of San Antonio Abad del Cusco, 2022 (p<0.05). Academic performance depends on 47.7% of teachers performance and 25.6% on didactic skills.
