The present investigation was carried out in the Bellavista Nanay and Masusa IPRESS of the Punchana District in 2022, with the objective of determining the relationship that exists between maternal education and the effectiveness of exclusive breastfeeding in postpartum women. The study was quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional, prospective and correlational. The populations comprised 175 women up to the third month of the puerperium and the sample 120 through non-probabilistic convenience sampling who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The techniques were the survey and observation, as an instrument a questionnaire on maternal characteristics and maternal education and a LATCH observation guide, both were tested for validity and reliability. The results were that 66.7% (80) of the postpartum women had adequate maternal education on exclusive breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding was effective in 56.7% (68) and there is a statistically significant relationship between maternal education and the efficacy of exclusive breastfeeding with X2=42.421, df=1, p=0.000, α=0.05. Concluding that adequate maternal education increases the probability that women carry out exclusive breastfeeding effectively.
