The purpose of the research is to determine the relationship between tolerance of personal frustration and depression in leaders of the human settlements of a state and private entity in the city of Iquitos - Nauta, 2021. Quantitative study and hypothetical-deductive method. The population made up of 58 leaders of human settlements, being 32 leaders of the city of Iquitos and belong to the NGO Plan International, and 26 leaders of the city of Nauta who belong to the National Program CUNA MÁS, a nonprobabilistic sampling was used by convenience, with the sample being 52 leaders who participated in the study. The technique was psychometric, the instruments used were the Frustration Tolerance Scale (ETAF), and the Beck Depression Inventory II – (DBI-II). To analyze the information, the SPSS v23 software was used, obtaining the following results: Variable tolerance to frustration, 61.5% presented a high level of tolerance to frustration, and 38.5% had a medium level. Depression variable, 76.9% had minimal level of depression, 9.6% mild level, 7.7% moderate level and 5.8% severe level. Conclusions: There is a relationship between tolerance to frustration and depression in leaders of human settlements in a state and private entity in the city of Iquitos - Nauta, (Rho = - 0.348; p = 0.011; medium negative correlation).
